Egyptian Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad is following up on for the second day in a row the development of El Salam botanical park in Sharm El Sheikh, as Egypt is set to host the 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) in the city in November.
This botanical park will be home to a Green Zone that will serve as an active space for youth groups, civil society, academia, artists, and businesses from across Egypt, Africa, and the rest of the world during the COP27. It will host events, exhibitions, cultural performances, workshops, and talks.
During her field visit to the park, the environment minister inspected spaces designated for food and cafeterias.
Fouad also toured pavilions designated for civil society, youth and exhibitors from private sector companies to make sure that they are fully prepared to accommodate the large number of visitors who are expected to take part in the COP27.
