Egypt’s Minister of Environment, the ministerial coordinator and envoy for the 27th session of the UN Climate Change Conference, Yasmin Fouad asserted that Egypt’s efforts at convening the UN Climate Conference with the backing of the political leadership and amid an international economic crisis is a start on the road of sustained climate and environmental action.
The minister’s remarks were made during her meeting with members of the energy, environment and manpower committee at the Senate under the chairmanship of Abdel Khaleq Ayad, MP Noha Zaki and Head of the Central Administration for Climate Change at the Ministry of Environment Sherif Abdel Rehim to review the outcome of COP27.
The minister also met with Senate Speaker Abdel Wahab Abdel Raziq and other members of the committee’s bureau.
She also reviewed the important initiatives that will be declared during the upcoming UN Climate Conference (COP28) that will be held in UAE, noting that the initiatives will cover the sectors of energy and electricity.
