Egyptian Environment Minister Yasmin Fouad asserted the importance of reaching innovative solutions to have the private sector and civil society participate in waste management and recycling, especially in the field of power generation or biogas.
Fouad was speaking on Tuesday while participating in a consultative session via videoconference to discuss an international initiative for waste.
The minister pointed to the necessity of providing the private sector with technologies related to waste recycling, adding that waste largely contributes to climate change.
