Egyptian Minster of Environment Yasmine Fouad said efforts are underway to link power interconnection networks with the National Network for Monitoring Industrial Emissions (EEAA).
In press statements Sunday, the minister said all efforts are meant to control emissions released from giant industrial facilities.
According to the minister, the total number of industrial institutions linked to the EEAA are 88 complexes, with 438 chimneys across the various governorates, that are being monitored on daily basis to ensure
compatibility of emissions with limits prescribed by the law on the protection of the environment.
EEAA is one of the basic tools to collect data and information on emissions quality and its quantity and the analysis of these data contributes effectively to the control process in industrial pollution and also contribute in giving a clear picture of air quality in places located nearby those companies through analysis of pollution loads.
