Mothers must be less than 50 years old, literate, hold a university degree or professional qualification are eligible to enter for the Ideal Mother Competition 2023.
Minister of Social Solidarity Nevine el-Qabbag on Tuesday announced the opening for admissions.
Applications must be submitted to social solidarity directorates nationwide by January 5.
Mothers in North Sinai, South Sinai, New Valley, Aswan and Marsa Martrouh may apply if they have a maximum of five children.
Categories in next year’s competition include foster mother, mother of a disabled child with a sporting or artistic talent, mother in an economic empowerment scheme, caregiver for children of unknown parents, and mother volunteering for the presidential Decent Life initiative.
Mona El Shabrawi, head of the central administration for women and family affairs at the Ministry of Social Solidarity, said the ideal mother will be selected according to the Social Solidarity Ministry’s criteria, which focus on mothers who demonstrate a high capacity for giving and sacrifices, maintain the stability of the Egyptian family, and providing utmost care for orphans.
