President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, following his arrival in Doha to participate in the Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit and expressed to him and to the people of Qatar sincere condolences over the victims of the brutal Israeli aggression against the State of Qatar, Presidency spokesman Ambassador M. Shennawy said.

President Sisi also reiterated Egypt’s strong condemnation and rejection of this blatant violation of Qatari sovereignty, affirming Egypt’s full solidarity with Qatar and its readiness to provide all forms of support to safeguard its sovereignty and preserve the integrity of its territory.

For his part, Emir Tamim expressed deep appreciation for the Egyptian leader’s participation in the summit and praised Egypt’s firm stance in rejecting the Israeli assault and in consistently upholding Arab causes.

The latest regional developments and ways to restore stability in the Middle East were also discussed in the meeting, with both leaders underscoring the importance of shaping a joint vision for collective Arab action and forming a united front to protect Arab national security, spokesman Shennawy said.

The two leaders, he added, emphasized the urgent need to press for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, to ensure the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid, and to categorically reject any attempts to forcibly displace Palestinians from their land.
