CAIRO – State Minister for Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs Soha Gendi met Friday with head of the Egyptian community in Northern Ireland Afaf Abd Rabou to probe needs of the community members, according to a statement by the ministry.

The meeting comes after Egypt held the third conference for Egyptian entities abroad in the New Administrative Capital in August.

Gendi commended tireless efforts exerted by Abd Rabou in serving the Egyptian community members over the past period and her crucial societal role and strong bonds with political symbols and MPs in a way that could boost bilateral relations between Egypt and the UK, said the statement.

For her part, Abd Rabou underscored the importance of providing Egyptians in Northern Ireland and the UK as well with necessary media materials about the Egyptian arena to dismiss any rumors and false information about the country in the region.
