Egypt’s Minister of Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs Soha Gendi said the ministry is working hard to implement the political leadership’s directives with regard to communicating with various Egyptian expats worldwide.
She made the remarks during a meeting of the parliamentary committee for foreign relations.
The talks tackled the budget and investment plan of the ministry for the 2023-2024 fiscal year.
She reviewed the ministry’s action plan in the coming fiscal year, noting that the ministry’s plan includes proceeding with the implementation of the presidential initiatives, including “Egypt Can” conferences, Survival Boats and Etkallem Arabi (Speak Arabic).
The minister said efforts are underway to launch the advisory council to Egyptian young researchers abroad.
MP Karim Darwish – the committee head – lauded the efforts exerted by the ministry over the past period, especially in light of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis and the Sudanese stalemate.
