Egyptian Emigration Minister Soha el Gendi began on Sunday a European tour to encourage Egyptian expatriates to take part in the 2024 presidential elections scheduled for December 1, 2 and 3.
In a statement, the ministry said Gendi will meet with members of the Egyptian community in the European countries she will visit to encourage them practice their national and constitutional right.
The European tour comes following her visits to Saudi Arabia and the UAE and her meetings with Egyptians living there.
She said the ministry seeks to offer all needed facilities to Egyptian expatriates and iron out any hurdle that might block their vote in the presidential elections.
Over three days, the ministry will hold an operations room to follow up Egyptian expatriates’ vote in elections.
Meanwhile, the minister will meet with a number of Egyptian investors in the European countries she will visit to promote available investment opportunities.
The National Elections Authority (NEA) announced that four contenders are running in the presidential polls; incumbent President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Farid Zahran, Abdel Sanad Yamama, and Hazem Omar.
