CAIRO – Egypt’s Emigration Minister Nabila Makram said Monday that Egypt is working to protect the second and third generations of Egyptian expats in the face of psychological and mental crises as a result of bullying and discrimination practices.
Makram made the remark after receiving a report from the Cairo-based mental health platform “Shezlong”, stressing that her Ministry is seeking to provide psychiatric support for Egyptians abroad, particularly the youth.
Founded in 2014, “Shezlong” enables users to find and speak to licensed psychiatry therapists through its web-based platform.
The users can book up to hour-long video or voice sessions with over 500 therapists that Shezlong currently hosts on its platform.
The users can choose not to share their identity with the therapists and their details are kept private.
