CAIRO – Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities started operating the electronic ticketing system at the Abu Simbel Temples area.

Advisor to the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Digital Transformation Khaled Sherif said Monday the installation of electronic machines at Abu Simbel Temples area came as part of a larger plan to digitise services at 32 archaeological sites and museums all over Egypt within the first phase of the ministry’s implementation of a digital transformation strategy at all sites and museums.

Also the reservation website:/https://egymonuments.com/abusimbel is launched for online reservations to facilitate procedures for Egyptians, as well as tourist visitors of Abu Simbel Temples, especially that it coincides with the marvelous phenomenon of solar alignment; the fall of the sun perpendicular on the face of the statue of Ramses II, according to the official.

Having the tickets available Online would help a great deal those wishing to visit the place, especially that a large number of visitors and tourists are expected to flock into the site, sherif said.

The new smart gate system is meant to facilitate visitors entrance, avoid overcrowding and enhance their experience, he noted.
