Egypt’s Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mohamed Shaker will head to the United Kingdom to participate in a business mission organised by the British Egyptian Business Association (BEBA) to promote the upcoming UN Climate Change Conference (COP27), set to be held in November in the Red Sea resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh.
Shaker is scheduled to hold meetings with officials from some British companies with a view to discussing bilateral co-operation and investment opportunities in Egypt, the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy said in a statement on Wednesday.
The minister will explain the viewpoint of Egypt’s business community as regards supporting economic and investment relations with the UK.
Shaker’s meetings in Britain shall also touch on developing Cairo-London co-operation opportunities in the field of new and renewable energy and low-carbon energy systems – especially with regard to green hydrogen projects – in addition to investment opportunities for electricity transmission and distribution to the private sector.
