CAIRO – Electricity Minister Mahmoud Esmat and delegation members of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) have discussed ways to support renewable energy projects.

The Electricity Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday that the minister met with the members of the delegation, chaired by regional director of the corporation in North Africa Cheik-Oumar Sylla, and discussed proposals to enhance cooperation on future bids of renewable energy.

The minister lauded fruitful cooperation between the sector of electricity and renewable energy and the IFC and reviewed ways to provide needed funding for a number of current and future electricity and renewable energy projects.

Esmat said the ministry prioritizes maximizing the returns of renewable energy projects under its strategy to realize the goals of sustainable development.

The Electricity Ministry still works on taking all necessary procedures to provide clean resources of energy permanently at low cost, the minister added.
