Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi made a phone call with the president of Mauritania Mohamed Ould Ghazouani congratulating him for taking the chair of the new round of the African Union (AU).
President El Sisi asserted Egypt’s support for Mauritania and his trust in the capacity of the Mauritanian president to assume the responsibilities of the AU, the presidency Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said.
El Sisi highlighted Egypt’s readiness to offer its expertise in this affair to Mauritania, in a way reinforcing the joint African action at all levels.
For his part, the Mauritanian president underscored his country’s keenness on continued coordination and consultation with Egypt, in light of the distinguished ties between them.
Both presidents agreed on opening new avenues of cooperation to fulfil the aspirations and interests of peoples of both countries.
