Chairman of the Egyptian National Press Authority, Abdel Sadek el-Shorbagi, praised on Sunday local and foreign media for what he described as its ‘professional coverage’ of the 27th United Nations Climate Change summit (COP27) in Sharm el-Sheikh.
Over 3,000 media representatives attended the summit, el-Shorbagi said.
He added that the summit’s professional coverage helped Egyptians and people around the world to follow its various activities with great interest.
He noted that Egypt has been in the news since the beginning of the summit on November 6.
“Egypt has made great and multiple successes and gains for the international community, in general, and developing countries, in particular, under President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s leadership,” el-Shorbagi said.
He added that these successes and gains were especially made in the fight against the negative repercussions of climate change.
El-Shorbagi noted that the climate summit in Sharm succeeded in inviting the attention of the world, revealing Egypt’s outstanding ability to organize large international events.
This ability, he said, is evidenced by the testimony of major institutions, personalities and participating international delegations.
