SHARM EL SHEIKH, Egypt – Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli asserted the importance of El Salam tourist walkway in Sharm El Sheikh as it supports tourism activity in the Red Sea resort and lures in more tourists and visitors in addition to providing many job opportunities.
The premier’s remarks were made during his night tour of Sharm El Sheikh City to inspect the development works of El Salam tourist walkway, carried out by the Armed Forces Engineering Authority.
He was briefed by a representative of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority on the development of El Salam road and the expansion of its traffic lanes along with lighting and landscape.
The walkway has an average width of 12 meters and includes a bike path, a pedestrian path, seats, plants and some recreational areas.
It also includes 83 shops, 66 kiosks and an entertainment area that comprises a waterfall, an amphitheater, a panorama restaurant, a children’s park and service shops.
The project involves 57 concrete pergolas and 83 wooden ones, as well as six parking lots that accommodate 600 cars.
