Egyptian Prosecutor General Hamada el Sawy has ordered that an operations room be formed to follow up on cases related to the trade and handling of local wheat as per the supply minister’s decision on that score.
The Public Prosecution said in a statement on Monday that such directives are part of its efforts to protect the State’s national food security and decisively counter crimes linked to the trade and handling of local wheat.
The prosecution has been notified about 80 violations on wheat trade since May 13 and directed the bodies concerned to arrest violators to take legal action against them and complete investigations into these cases, the statement added.
