Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli toured the Control and Support Center in the government district of Egypt’s new administrative capital. He was joined by Communications Minister Raafat Hindi, center director Mohamed Gamal El-Naeiri, and senior officials.
Madbouli said the ICT sector is a cornerstone of Egypt’s digital transformation and economic growth. He described the new capital as a smart city built through science, technology, and strong political will, with full support from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
Hindi stressed the ministry’s focus on advanced infrastructure, attracting investment, and expanding data centers. He said Egypt is positioning itself as a regional hub for cloud computing and digital services.
El-Naeiri explained that the center manages a massive network of 6,800 devices, 953 data rooms, 300,000 data outlets, 27,000 digital phones, 22,000 wireless stations, 14,000 cameras, and 50,000 computers serving 50,000 employees. He said it is the largest and most advanced of its kind in the Middle East.
The center provides proactive monitoring, technical support, crisis management, and data security. Forty engineers work around the clock, coordinating with teams in ministries and the state’s main data center.
Madbouli inspected technical support halls, wireless monitoring stations, entry systems, and data security rooms. He was shown how the center predicts problems, monitors networks, and ensures uninterrupted government services.
At the end of the visit, Madbouli thanked staff for their efforts. He said the center demonstrates Egypt’s serious steps toward digital transformation, improving state administration, and delivering better services to citizens.
