CAIRO – Egypt’s participation in the proceedings of Barcelona Convention reflects its crucial regional role in preserving the coastal environment and the biodiversity in the Mediterranean Basin and all the countries bordering it, affirmed CEO of the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency (EEAA) Ali Abu Sunna.
Abu Sunna’s remarks came, according to MENA, while leading the Egyptian delegation participating in the first Steering Committee of the Plan of Action for a Model Mediterranean Sea by 2030 (PAMEx), which was held in Athens.
PAMEx stems from an initiative launched at the 2021 edition of the IUCN World Conservation Congress. It is an inclusive framework for action that brings together 12 countries and five organizations.
