CAIRO – Egypt’s National Council for Women (NCW) said a 16-day campaign will be launched on Friday to combat violence against women.
The campaign comes on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women that falls tomorrow.
In a statement, Chairperson of the council Maya Morsi said the campaign comes as part of the council’s tireless efforts to combat all forms of violence against women across the nation.
She reiterated the State keenness on enacting legislations over the past eight years to guarantee women’s protection against all forms of violence.
Activities of the campaign will include opening two clinics for women at Azhar University, holding a sports day under the title of Yes Yoga Day and organizing seminars on violence against women and women empowerment.
