CAIRO – Egypt’s Mufti and President of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide Shawqi Allam has extended greetings to Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese and all Christian denominations in Egypt, on the occasion of Easter.
In a statement released, Allam said that such occasions and feasts are a genuine chance to express the feelings of fraternity and cordiality between Muslims and Christians who constitute the country’s cohesive and stable social fabric.
He said the nation’s enemies would never stop trying to disturb the harmony among Egyptians from time to time, adding that Egyptians’ awareness has always helped in deterring such attempts.
