Egypt’s National Council for Human Rights (NCHR) Sunday launched its 18th annual report assessing the state of human rights in the country from July 2024 to June 2025.
The report reviews civil and political rights as well as economic, social and cultural rights and outlines the Council’s activities, recommendations and financial accounts.
Speaking at a press conference, NCHR Chairman ambassador Mahmoud Karem said, the report is based on constitutional principles and Egypt’s international commitments, examining legislation, State actions and the Council’s own interventions.
The NCHR said it aims to go beyond monitoring by strengthening cooperation with State institutions, civil society and international partners and by promoting public awareness and capacity-building to support sustainable human rights reforms.
