CAIRO -Egypt’s Higher Education Minister and and Acting Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar received on Friday Czech Ambassador in Cairo Jan Volk for talks on means of boosting bilateral co-operation in the health sector.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral cooperation in several fields, including pharmaceutical manufacturing, along with sharing the technology of manufacturing serums and vaccines against the coronavirus and other epidemic diseases.
In statements, Spokesman for the Health Ministry Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, said that the minister discussed with the Czech ambassador cooperation in the field of drug control.
The minister also reviewed the Egyptian State’s achievements through President Abdel-Fattah El Sisi’s initiative to eliminate Hepatitis C Virus.
He also expressed his keenness on creating joint channels of communication between the two countries in the medical tourism domain.
For his part, the Czech ambassador invited the higher education minister to visit his country and participate in the Health Forum (Czech Republic- Africa 2022), which will be held from May 17 to 19, which will discuss options available to support the health sector in Africa.
Amb. Volk said that his country is looking forward to back the capabilities of the health sector in the African continent via providing medical supplies and equipment and building medical facilities as per the latest international standards.
He also stressed his country’s keenness to finance projects in various health fields in Africa.
