Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population said the country’s healthcare system remains on full alert following the earthquake that struck in the early hours of Monday, with only one injury reported nationwide.
The ministry’s central operations room, chaired by Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, said it has been continuously monitoring the health situation across the country since the earthquake occurred.
According to the ministry, emergency teams responded promptly to all reports received, and the only injured person was provided with the necessary medical care before being discharged after their condition improved.
The ministry said hospitals and emergency operations rooms across Egypt remain on standby and are continuing round-the-clock monitoring for any developments.
It also urged the public to remain calm, rely on official information issued by the relevant authorities, and follow public safety instructions.
The ministry added that its central operations room remains in continuous session to monitor the situation and provide immediate support if needed.
