Egypt’s Foreign Minister stresses role of Parliamentary diplomacy in national goals 1 - Egyptian Gazette

 Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Badr Abdelatty underlined on Thursday the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in light of the significant role played by Egyptian diplomacy in supporting Egypt’s constants and strengthening cooperation and friendship ties with parliaments around the world.

The Top diplomat gave the remarks during a meeting with Senate Speaker Essam el Din Farid.

Abdelatty expressed his keenness to continue coordinating with Senate members regarding the recommendations issued by the various specialized committees and on consular requests. 

He also reiterated the ministry’s keenness on providing the highest level of service to Egyptian citizens.

He expressed his desire for continued close cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Senate to enhance Egypt’s efforts across various fields and serve the country’s goals and interests. 

He highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation with both the Senate and the House of Representatives to exchange views on Egypt’s foreign policy, in addition to discussing regional challenges and key files concerning the interests of Egyptians abroad. 

He also stressed the need to support the country’s development and national economy.

Abdelatty reviewed the efforts made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its missions abroad to facilitate the participation of Egyptians living abroad in electoral processes, in cooperation with the National Elections Authority. 

He reiterated the ministry’s commitment to enabling citizens abroad to exercise their constitutional right to vote.

Abdelatty gave the Senate speaker a copy of a book issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs titled “Strategic Balance: Features of Egypt’s Foreign Policy over Ten Years,” which discusses the concept of strategic balance established by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi as the guiding framework for Egypt’s foreign policy.
