In a recent communication, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, reaffirmed the country’s strong condemnation of unilateral and provocative actions that jeopardize the security and stability of the region.
His remarks came during a phone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, where they discussed the escalating tensions following Israeli aggression towards Iran.
Abdelatty emphasized the critical need for de-escalation, warning that failure to cool tensions could lead the region into a broader conflict. He highlighted Egypt’s ongoing efforts, in collaboration with Qatar and the United States, to broker a ceasefire in Gaza, aiming to facilitate the unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid.
The conversation also touched on the situation in Lebanon, where Abdelatty underscored the importance of empowering state institutions and the necessity of electing a president free from external pressures. Through these discussions, Egypt continues to advocate for regional stability and the prevention of further hostilities.
