Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aati met today with Dubravka Šuica, European Union Commissioner for the Mediterranean, to advance Egypt–EU cooperation and review joint initiatives.
Abdel-Aati highlighted the momentum gained from last year’s Egypt–EU Summit, stressing the importance of building on its outcomes to strengthen economic, investment, and trade ties. He underscored collaboration on migration, calling for expanded legal pathways, labor mobility, and vocational training programs that serve mutual interests.
Talks also covered the Mediterranean Charter, with the Minister presenting Egypt’s vision and proposed projects to enhance regional integration and address shared challenges. He briefed the Commissioner on Egypt’s role in resolving regional conflicts and welcomed the recent U.S.–Iran agreement.
Šuica reaffirmed the EU’s commitment to deepening its strategic partnership with Egypt, praising the country’s pivotal role in promoting regional stability and fostering cooperation across the Mediterranean.
