Egypt’s Foreign Minister and Minister of International Cooperation, Badr Abdel-Aati, held two phone calls on Monday with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul and Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand to review regional developments and efforts to de-escalate tensions.
During the conversations, Abdel-Aati outlined Egypt’s intensive diplomatic engagement with regional and international partners aimed at halting military escalation and advancing proposals for calm to prevent the region from sliding into widespread instability. The talks also addressed the severe economic repercussions of the ongoing escalation. He emphasized the importance of sustaining diplomatic dialogue to contain the dangerous situation and safeguard regional security.
Abdel-Aati assured his counterparts that Egypt will continue its active contacts and sincere efforts to stop the war and support stability. Both Wadephul and Anand commended the constructive role played by Egypt, Turkey, and Pakistan in promoting de-escalation and prioritizing diplomatic solutions to avert chaos.
The ministers agreed to maintain close coordination and consultations in the coming period to bolster regional security and stability.
