Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aati held a series of phone calls on Sunday evening with counterparts from the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait, Italy, Belgium and Luxembourg.

Discussions addressed the latest regional developments and explored ways to reduce escalation and ease tensions across the region.

They included an exchange of views and assessments on the evolving situation amid the dangerous military escalation currently underway, as well as its serious security, economic and political repercussions at both the regional and global levels.

Abdel-Aati stressed the need for concerted regional and international efforts to reduce tensions, prioritize political solutions and rely on dialogue and diplomacy to contain the situation.

He warned of the risks associated with the expansion of military operations, noting that such developments could pose serious challenges to the security and stability of the entire region.

The minister also reiterated the importance of intensifying de-escalation efforts to prevent the region from sliding into broader confrontation.

Abdel-Aati further emphasised Egypt’s firm rejection and condemnation of any violations targeting the sovereignty and security of sisterly and friendly Arab states, stressing that the security of Arab countries is indivisible. He underscored that there is no justification for such attacks and called for their immediate cessation to prevent the region from descending into widespread chaos.

He also conveyed Egypt’s sincere condolences to Kuwait over the incident that resulted in the death of two members of Kuwait’s land border security forces.

The ministers agreed on the importance of maintaining close coordination and consultation in the coming period, while intensifying joint efforts aimed at reducing tensions in the region.
