MUNICH, Germany – Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry asserted that climate change is a global crisis with unprecedented repercussions.
Such a crisis can only be handled through multi-lateral environmental diplomacy, he said.
Shoukry has been named the president designate of the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP27) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
Shoukry’s remarks came while participating as main speaker in a session on environmental diplomacy and climate change as part of activities of Munich Security Conference, according to Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Hafez.
Shoukry said according to MENA that he is very much keen to reach out to all parties concerned with climate action to boost mutual confidence, added Hafez.
The conference offers an opportunity for tackling the current situation worldwide and pressing challenges and crises globally.
