Minister of Education and Technical Education Mohamed Abdel Latif, accompanied by Mitsuo Ouchi, President of Hiroshima University, and Hiroyuki Tsunishi, President of Japan’s “Sprix” company, toured the Egyptian-Japanese School in New Cairo (2) to review the application of the Japanese education model.
Students welcomed the delegation with interactive activities, including clay-based learning exercises and role-play scenarios designed to build life skills. The visitors observed classrooms and activities that reflect the “Tokkatsu” approach, which integrates academic curricula with interactive educational practices to foster discipline, teamwork, and personal development.
In line with digital learning priorities, the Japanese officials attended a fifth-grade programming and AI class, where students practiced coding and explored innovative teaching methods aimed at enhancing critical and creative thinking. They also reviewed the SPL program, which uses artificial intelligence to strengthen mathematics skills.
Hiroshima University’s president praised the Egyptian-Japanese schools as a pioneering educational experiment blending Japanese philosophy with Egypt’s modern vision for education reform. Sprix’s president expressed admiration for the integration of advanced teaching methods and student engagement with programming and AI activities.
The Japanese delegation concluded by commending the schools as a leading educational model that reflects the strong partnership between Egypt and Japan.
