Chief Executive Officer of the Social Fund for Development, Neveen Gamie, said on Sunday that her fund makes continuous efforts to support handicrafts and heritage.
This, she said, comes in line with the directives of the political leadership.
Gamie noted that these directives focus on the need for opening international markets for Egypt’s unique handicrafts and heritage products.
“The political leadership also gave instructions for supporting the owners of projects in this regard, especially when it comes to the marketing of their products,” Gamie said.
She added that one of the things her fund does to implement these directives is to expand the participation of the owners of handicrafts and heritage projects in international exhibitions outside Egypt.
This participation, she said, provides these people with new experiences that help them develop their products and meet the tastes of consumers in various local and international markets.
Gamie pointed out that her fund participates in a crafts exhibition in Paris.
The exhibition, she said, started on November 25 and would last for three days.
She noted that Egyptian exhibitors are bringing to the fair a wide range of ancient heritage products.
“Participation in this exhibition aims to promote Egyptian handicrafts and heritage in European markets,” Gamie said.
She added that the exhibition in Paris is one of the largest specialized exhibitions in the world.
