Egypt’s annual inflation registered 14.9 per cent in April, compared to 4.4 per cent in the same month of 2021, the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS) said.
On a monthly basis, inflation recorded 129 points last month, recording a 3.7 per cent increase compared to March 2022, according to the CAPMAS.
CAPMAS attributed the rise in the annual inflation rate to the notable increase in the prices of vegetables by 32 per cent, the fish and seafood group by 12.1 per cent, the fruit group by 11.9 per cent, the meat and poultry group by 5.4 per cent, the cereals and bread group by 3.6 pe and the dairy, cheese and eggs group by 1.3 per cent.
