Egypt’s agricultural exports exceeded 2.2 million tons, valued at approximately $1.5 billion since January 2024, the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation announced Saturday.
The figure marks an increase of $300 million compared to the same period in 2023, despite global and regional conditions affecting supply chains, the ministry added in a statement.
The report also noted that Egypt temporarily halted the export of some agricultural products to support the local market.
citrus fruits, potatoes, pomegranates, garlic, strawberries, beans, guavas, and tomatoes were the most important agricultural export.
