The Egyptian Minister of Emigration Soha Gendy asserted that her ministry is closely following up the conditions of the Egyptian community in Sudan, adding that Egyptian nationals will be evacuated according to a well-calculated plan that takes their safety into consideration.

The Egyptian authorities are coordinating with the Sudanese bodies to implement the evacuation plan and guarantee the safety of all Egyptians, Gendy told MENA on Sunday.

Nationals are urged to head for the Egyptian consulate in Port Sudan or Wadi Halfa office in northern Sudan ahead of the start of the evacuation plan.

Egyptians in Sudan can contact the diplomatic mission in Wadi Halfa in northern Sudan at (00249) 0116604033 or (00249) 0118162679 and the diplomatic mission in Port Sudan at (00249) 906398621.

As for those living in Khartoum, the ministry urged them to stay home and avoid areas of tension and security turmoil.

The ministry also urged expats to stay calm and maintain communications with the Egyptian diplomatic and consular representatives in Sudan until instructions related to evacuation are issued.
