CAIRO – Egyptian Agriculture and Land Reclamation Minister El Sayed El Quseir said that Egyptian-Uzbek relations had witnessed great developments during President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s era especially after his visit to Uzbekistan in 2018.
This came during Quseir’s meeting with his Uzbek counterpart Aziz Voitov in which they discussed means of fostering bilateral relations in agriculture research fields, enhancing agriculture products trade and using modern agriculture technologies as well as boosting co-operation in livestock and fish.
The meeting comes on the sidelines of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s current visit to Egypt in which he met with President Sisi.
Voitov hailed the deep-rooted relations with Egypt, noting that Sisi’s visit to Uzbekistan was a turning point in the Egyptian-Uzbek relations. He also hailed the developments witnessed in agriculture sector in Egypt that achieved food security.
The ministers also agreed on activating a memorandum of understanding and enhancing the role of the joint technical committee to develop co-operation.
Quseir also accepted Voitov’s invitation to attend the agriculture forum to be held in Uzbekistan within efforts to enhance co-operation.
