Egypt’s Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar held a meeting with his Turkish counterpart Fahrettin Koca via videoconference to discuss boosting cooperation in the medical field in addition to proceeding with medical services offered to the injured of Gaza.
Both ministers conferred on developing cooperation between Egypt and Turkey in the medical and health levels in light of a proposal to hold a joint medical conference in 2024, Spokesman for the Health Ministry Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said.
The conference will bring together officials in the medical field from the public and private sectors to exchange expertise and open new horizons of cooperation, especially in the field of manufacturing, he said.
The minister welcomed benefiting from the Turkish expertise in the field of medical tourism, especially as Egypt prioritizes this file via cooperation with the governmental and private sectors in addition to discussing means of joint cooperation, the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, Koca said that the Turkish and the Egyptian medical teams are working side by side to relief and rescue those injured in Gaza, including the elderly, toddlers and women who receive medical services at the hospitals in North Sinai.
