Foreign Affairs and Emigration Minister Badr Abdelatty on Friday discussed over the phone with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan mustering support for the Arab-Islamic plan for the early recovery and reconstruction of Gaza.
The phone call falls within the framework of regular contacts between the two countries. It also aims at following up on the outcome of the Cairo-hosted meetings of the Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee on Gaza.
The two sides also discussed ongoing Egyptian-Qatari efforts to uphold a ceasefire in Gaza and implement the three phases of the ceasefire agreement that took effect as of January 19.
The deal aims at ensuring the release of hostages and prisoners and the entry of humanitarian, medical and shelter aid into the Gaza Strip.
For his part, Abdelatty posted the Turkish foreign minister on the outcome of his recent visit to the United States.
