CAIRO – Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Monday evening a phone call from Senegalese President Macky Sall, Presidency Spokesman Bassam Radi said.
The two leaders reviewed preparations for the upcoming annual African summit, which is slated for February.
President Sisi congratulated his Senegalese counterpart on the successful presidency of the African Union during 2022 that witnessed many international and regional challenges which had great repercussions on all political, economic and social levels in the African continent.
President Sall expressed his sincere appreciation and gratitude for the Egyptian support to his country in various aspects during its presidency of the African Union, which reflected Egypt’s keenness to uphold the common interests of African countries and to search for solutions to issues and crises facing the continent, he added.
They also dealt with the latest developments in key files and issues of mutual concern at the regional and international levels.(MENA)
