Egyptian-Saudi military exercise “Piercing Arrow 2024″,” kicked off Monday at the Southern Military Zone.
The several days’ drill is attended by units from ground, air and naval units in addition to special forces from the two countries.
It comes as part of efforts to promote military ties and exchange military expertise with friendly countries.
The head of the Saudi Armed Forces Education and Training Authority, Maj. Gen. Adel Al-Balawi, emphasized that the Saudi participation is part of training for the Armed Forces, including joint and mixed exercises both inside and outside the Kingdom, aiming to enhance training, qualify military personnel, and develop skills.
He was quoted by the Saudi Press Agency as saying that the Armed Forces, represented by the land, naval, air, and air-defence forces, are actively participating in the exercise to strengthen military cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries, develop joint work, and achieve operational compatibility between the Saudi and Egyptian armed forces.
