KIEV – Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli and Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry arrived on Friday in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, after a 12-hour train trip from the Polish border.
Madbouli leads Egypt’s delegation, on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, on a mission to settle the Russian-Ukrainian crises through Africa-mediated initiative.
The joint African initiative groups the heads of state of South Africa, Senegal, the Comoros, Uganda, Zambia, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, alongside Egypt.
The African delegation is scheduled to hold talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to brief him on the African initiative aiming at resolving the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.
Following the talks, a joint press conference will be held.
