CAIRO/NEW YORK – The foreign ministers of Egypt, Jordan and Iraq stressed that Israel’s aggression in Gaza must be stopped at first to put an end to Israel’s intense aggression on Gaza.
During a joint statement issued on Wednesday following the three ministers’ meeting in New York on the sidelines of the high-level General Debate of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 79), the ministers discussed the serious escalation in the region, urging the international community and the UN Security Council to undertake their full responsibilities to stop the war.
The ministers held Israel fully responsible for this deteriorating situation and its grave repercussions on the whole region, the statement said.
The statement condemned Israel’s aggression on Lebanon, saying Israel is trying to drag the entire region into a full-scale war.
The ministers also discussed the course of action within the framework of the tripartite co-operation mechanism to set the stage for the upcoming tripartite leaders’ summit, set for Cairo.
