CAIRO – The Egyptian Cabinet Media Center has dismissed news circulating on social media websites warning against kidnapping of some girls at public transport after injecting them with anesthetic.
In a statement issued Friday, the center said it contacted the Ministry of Interior over the matter and the ministry categorically denied such news, saying no complaints or reports have been filed to that effect at any governorate.
The ministry urged citizens not to heed to such rumors as they are mere allegations only meant to stir public opinion and to report any incident to the ministry to take all required legal measures.
