The Egyptian Food Bank announced on Monday the arrangement, in co-operation and coordination with the National Alliance for Civil Society Work, of the fourth convoy of the land relief bridge to people in Gaza.
The convoy is due to head to the Rafah border crossing today in preparation for the entry of the relief assistance in coordination with the authorities concerned, the Food Bank said in a statement on Monday.
The bank explained in its statement that this move comes in line with the state’s orientation to keep exerting efforts to provide humanitarian assistance and urgent relief to the Palestinian brothers in the Gaza Strip.
Consisting of 100 trucks loaded with 2,000 tonnes of food supplies, including dates, honey, milk, cheese, canned meat, water, and beans, the convoy would join other National Alliance convoys heading for the Rafah crossing, the statement said.
This comes in line with the position adopted by Egypt since the beginning of the events in Gaza more than 4 months ago, on the necessity of intensifying relief and humanitarian efforts in support of the Palestinians inside the sector, the Food Bank said.
