The General Command of the Egyptian Armed Forces has issued a formal statement categorically denying the authenticity of documents recently circulating on social media. Officials have labeled the materials as “completely false” fabrications orchestrated by hostile elements operating abroad.
Attempt to Mislead the Public
According to Brigadier General Gharib Abdel Hafez Gharib, the official spokesperson for the Armed Forces, the viral posts are a deliberate attempt to undermine the institution’s integrity. The spokesperson noted that the documents strategically included the names of individuals who have either retired or completed their service years ago—a tactic intended to lend “unwarranted credibility” to the baseless allegations.
The General Command emphasized that the claims regarding special treatment for military personnel are entirely unfounded.

“No officer has been granted privileges in violation of the Constitution or the law,” the statement clarified. “Such claims contradict the core principles of a national institution dedicated to maintaining security and supporting state bodies in upholding the law without discrimination.”
In response to the spread of misinformation, the military leadership urged Egyptian citizens to exercise caution and avoid being misled by “irresponsible content.” The public is encouraged to rely exclusively on the official spokesperson’s social media pages and authorized government channels for accurate information.
Reaffirming its role as a “people’s army,” the Armed Forces concluded the statement by stressing its unwavering commitment to the Egyptian Constitution and the protection of the nation’s soil. The military remains steadfast in its mission to safeguard the dignity of citizens and the stability of the state against external and internal disinformation campaigns.
The statement ended with a traditional appeal for national unity: “May God protect Egypt, its people, and its Armed Forces.”
