The Egyptian Air Force, in collaboration with the Armed Forces and the Ministry of Civil Aviation, has delivered two Cessna 172R aircraft to the Egyptian Aviation Academy, affiliated with the Ministry of Civil Aviation, following their upgrade in accordance with the latest approved technical and engineering standards.
The step is in line with directives from the political leadership to localise strategic industries and maximise the utilisation of national capabilities across various sectors, the Aviation Ministry said in a statement, adding that the delivery forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance national aviation training capacities and optimise state resources.
The handover ceremony was attended by the Minister of Civil Aviation, Dr Sameh El-Hefny, the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Amr Abdel Rahman Saqr, alongside a number of Air Force commanders and officers, as well as officials from the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
The event included a detailed presentation on the stages of aircraft maintenance and upgrade, as well as a demonstration of the advanced capabilities of the Air Force’s workshops and production units in aircraft engineering and technical support.
This was followed by the signing of the aircraft maintenance and handover protocol by the Head of the Aviation Engineers Division and the Director of the Egyptian Aviation Academy.
The ceremony concluded with a tour of the upgraded aircraft, together with the exchange of commemorative plaques.
This co-operation between the Armed Forces and the Ministry of Civil Aviation reflects institutional integration and embodies the State’s ability to unify efforts and direct resources towards shared strategic objectives.
It also contributes to supporting the national economy, rationalising foreign currency expenditure, and enhancing Egypt’s position as a leading regional hub, particularly in the field of aviation.
