EgyptAir has started operating an air bridge to Jeddah Airport, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to transport 5,000 Palestinian pilgrims wishing to perform Umrah this year. The step came in co-operation and coordination with Palestinian Airlines.

Board Chairman of the EgyptAir Holding Company Yehia Zaki, said that this comes within the framework of efforts being exerted by the Ministry of Civil Aviation to provide all services and facilitate procedures necessary for Palestinian pilgrims.

Zaki said that the national air carrier performs a pioneering role in transporting Palestinian brothers to the Holy Lands during the seasons of Hajj and Umrah every year.

Pilot Ehab el-Tahtawi, Board Chairman of EgyptAir Airlines, said that the national air carrier is operating 14 flights this season. The flights, which will transport 5,000 Palestinian pilgrims, started on November 15 and will end February 20, 2023, at a rate of 4 flights per month.

The company’s latest Boeing aircraft B787-9 will transport the pilgrims, accommodating 309 passengers and is known as the Dream Plane. It is equipped with all means of comfort and luxury.
