The EgyptAir Maintenance and Engineering Company has for the 17th consecutive year passed inspection at its headquarters at Cairo International Airport by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
Company chairman Yahia Zakaria said the EASA inspection checks technical competence.
“The inspection covers engine overhaul, mechanical units overhaul, equipment overhaul, calibration and service for foreign companies,” Zakaria added.
The inspection entails working in accordance with legislation, adhering to recommendations by aircraft manufacturers or international authorities, he said.
Now the company’s accreditation has been renewed and its approved technical services now include maintenance services for B737 MAX aircraft.
“This outcome means more clients from outside EgyptAir,” Zakaria said.
