Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat and visiting Zambian Minister of Technology and Science Felix Mutati signed on Monday a memo of understanding (MoU) to promote cooperation between the two countries in the fields of communications and information technology topped by digital transformation and post services.
The memo also covered other fields such as building human abilities, development of skills, industrial intelligence, e-learning, digital inclusion and international infrastructure, said a statement issued by the ministry.
The two sides agreed to cooperate in many issues of mutual concern related to communications and information technology and exchange expertise and success stories as well as hosting Zambia youths to receive training in the Institute of Communications and Information Technology and the National Institute for communications in addition granting Zambian students chances to study in Egypt’s Informatics University
For his part, the Zambian minister said cooperation between the two countries aimed at benefitting from Egypt’s successful experiments in the fields information technology.
Meanwhile, Zambian Ambassador to Egypt Topply M Lubaya described the memo of understanding as an achievement contributing to promoting cooperation in the fields of information technology and communications.
