Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly met with Pascal Donohoe, Managing Director and Chief Knowledge Officer of the World Bank Group, to discuss strengthening cooperation in priority sectors and supporting Egypt’s economic reform program. The meeting was attended by senior Egyptian officials and World Bank representatives, including IFC and MENA leadership.
Madbouly praised the strong partnership with the World Bank, highlighting progress in structural reforms, private sector empowerment, and competitiveness. He noted ongoing collaboration on Egypt’s national foreign investment strategy, the B-READY business environment report, and restructuring of the SME Development Agency. He also emphasized advances in digital transformation and artificial intelligence, stressing the importance of expanding cooperation in digital infrastructure.
Donohoe expressed appreciation for Egypt’s reform efforts and reaffirmed the World Bank’s commitment to supporting development priorities in health, social protection, infrastructure, and private sector growth. He described Egypt as a key regional partner and emphasized the importance of building on the outcomes of the World Bank President’s visit to Cairo earlier this year.
Both sides agreed to continue expanding cooperation in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030, ensuring sustainable growth and greater private sector participation.
